This is a FREE online event, we will meet at Juergen's. The presentation will be via zoom. Each child needs to bring a laptop. Siblings can work together using the same laptop. If we like the format of this class, we can make arrangements to have one class a month during the school year.
There are two different FREE classes from the same organization. It is encouraged to sign-up for both classes, but it is not required. The dates are:
June 6th: Code your Hero
Students will choose an everyday hero and program a game to turn their real-life hero into a superhero. To score points, students move the up, down, left, and right arrows and help their hero touch stars. As students work on this project, they will explore intriguing creative computing concepts such as:
- Parallelism
- Debugging
- Control structure
- Variable
June 13th. Spaceship
Students will learn how to program their own animated spaceship and monkey astronaut and as they do, they will explore intriguing creative computing concepts such as:
- Sequencing
- Loops
