SPECIFIC EVENT INFORMATION:

Fungus (and Moss and Lichen) Among Us! - Arboretum

About the Park: The Houston Arboretum is a beautiful park with bathrooms and lots of shade and moisture (we see you, mushrooms!). Easy access for strollers and wagons. Parking is free on Thursdays, so yay us. We will want to arrive 10 minutes early or so, to provide time for restrooms before we settle in at Base Camp. Base Camp will be at Emmott Circle. See map! https://houstonarboretum.org/visit/plan-your-visit/map/ Emmott Circle has benches, so we will ditch blankets and enjoy our walk without the extra weight in-tow. Exploration will involve more walking, and we will wrap up at the playscape. The trails and play scape offer fun climbing, balancing, a slide, sand, and even a water pump. Read: good shoes and change of clothing.

Bring: general supplies but no blanket, gloves if desired (mushroom gathering)
