Ages:  10yr old and up

For general questions about Nature Adventures  please comment on this post: https://www.thehomeschoolcouncil.org/forum/nature-adventurers

Youth paddlers can learn the basics of handling a kayak, paddle strokes, and other know-before-you-go information. We’ll spend about 1.5 hours on land and about 1.5 on the water practicing paddle strokes and maneuvering the kayak.   Single-person kayaks, paddles, and personal flotation devices are provided. Must be 10 or older to participate.

Training will take place at Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve starting at the canoe launch area at 9am. We’ll wrap up the day by noon. Parents should plan on staying for the duration of the training. While you will not need to be glued to their child during the program, you must stay within the park (for safety precautions).

The max # of paddlers is 12. We do not have additional kayaks to host more participants for this training program.
