Ages: All ages are welcome. This event will be paced for families with small children. Baby wearing, infants, toddlers and young ones are all welcome! Older children explore the areas better at a slower pace allowing them to venture off trail, stop and dig, draw in a nature journal and more.
Description: Join us for a slow paced nature exploration (similar to the old Free Forest School if you are familiar with their style). We will meet at various nature areas throughout the fall and explore nature more in depth. Each week will have a different theme which the coordinators will talk about throughout the exploration. We may stay on trail and we may not. Our children will be our guides and safely explore wherever their imaginations take them.
Maxwell Park Info: We will be exploring and hiking in the creek and getting wet! Make sure you dress for wading in the shallow water and bring a change of clothes. Bring a blanket to sit on for our nature talk before exploring and a picnic if you want! This is suitable for baby wearing; I was able to comfortably follow my boys around wearing my 11 month old.
What to bring:
Water, mosquito spray, snacks for your family, and a blanket to sit on (optional for when we gather around for a lesson)
