EntreKIDneurs is designed to best benefit youth interested in earning their own money. This course will guide your children with your help, step by step through the process of creating their own start-up business and understanding entrepreneurship.
EntreKIDneurs is inspired by CHC families and built from the ground up to best benefit our kids. It is not only advantageous to them conceptually, but also in real life application.
This course is for children ages 7+. There will be 8 classes (consecutive) starting on September 20th. They will be divided between Juergen’s Hall and Zube Park on Mondays from 12:30-2:00p. A student market will be held after the final class on November 8th at Juergen’s Hall from 2:00-3:00p for students to officially introduce their new start-up businesses to CHC families and friends.
Several parents will be needed to assist during class time, and younger students (ages 7-12) will need active parent participation. All kids will need some level of parent involvement.
The course will be $25.00 per student. This will include all lessons, 130+ page full-color printed workbook pages, poster boards, and all materials directly related to teaching the class. Students will need to bring a clear view 3-ring binder to class each week.
Additional costs (materials for creating their products, display, etc.) are expected. This can be done small or be done big so it will be up to the individual family on how far they want their students to pursue their new business.
The course will end with an optional holiday market or other student commerce event scheduled to be held in the community so that students can continue practicing their new skills. Families will be made aware of additional opportunities in the local area and ways in which they can find them on their own in the future.
A few other things to mention:
Due to asthma and allergies to synthetic fragrances, we’re asking that those in attendance for the class forego scented products. We’re also asking that when your students are choosing the type of business they’d like to create, you help steer them away from anything that is scented or uses synthetic fragrance oils.
For the same reason, we’re also asking that any student choosing food items should not use peanuts. Please contact your coordinator if there is another allergy of concern for anyone in attendance during the course.
We’re very excited about this new curriculum and making it the best that it can be for everyone. Click the link to view the Scope and Sequence for each lesson in the course (Scope & Sequence). Please let us know if you have any questions!
