July's Theme: Graphic Novel Hybrids (Must be a hybrid of a graphic novel and chapter book.)
We all miss the library, but a local, well-loved librarian has generously agreed to bring the library to CHC.
This event will be a book chat/book club format for readers. Suggested age range is 6-11 1st grade+, but they must be able to read their book independently and discuss it. The librarian recommends this program for children that can independently read a 100 page chapter book.
Rather than a specific book, the librarian will choose a specific genre or theme of books and make a few suggestions for books in the genre. It is recommended that the child read a book from the librarian's list, though the child can read any book(s) within the genre or theme and bring them to the book chat to discuss the book. For example: if the genre were graphic novels, one child might bring Dogman and another child might bring the graphic novel version of A Wrinkle in Time. The librarian will lead the discussion from there.
July's theme is Graphic Novel Hybrids.
This event may be capped! The first 15 children signed up are guaranteed for this event. Please only list children who are reading a Graphic Novel Hybrids and participating in the book club discussions.
**Disclaimer- this event could be canceled if the library resumes in-person programming.
