June's Theme: Fantasy Book (Read one book from Missy's list (Big Foot and Little Foot, Dragon Masters: Rise of the Earth Dragon, The Yeti Files: Meet the Bigfeet, Beasts of Olympus Beast Keeper, Wings of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Serpent's Secret, The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell OR any fantasy book and come ready to discuss! )
We all miss the library, but a local, well-loved librarian has generously agreed to bring the library to CHC.
This event will be a book chat/book club format for readers. Suggested age range is 6-11, but they must be able to read their book independently and discuss it. The librarian recommends this program for children that can independently read a 100 page chapter book.
Rather than a specific book, the librarian will choose a specific genre or theme of books and make a few suggestions. The child can then read any book(s) within the genre or theme and bring them to the book chat to discuss the books. For example: if the genre were graphic novels, one child might bring Dogman and another child might bring the graphic novel version of A Wrinkle in Time. The librarian will lead the discussion from there.
This event may be capped! The first 15 children signed up are guaranteed for this event. Please list participating children and ages in the comments. After we reach 15 kids, I will check with her and add children if possible OR put you on the waitlist. Last day to register is June 15th.
**Disclaimer- this event could be canceled if the library reopens.
