About the Event
For all Teachers:
The first part of the meeting is a general meeting for all Academic Enrichment teachers for Fall I, Fall II, Winter, Spring I, and Spring II. We'll go through all the mechanics of Academic Enrichment.
The second part will be divided by grade/subject. The Fall I teachers will ask specific questions about the lessons to the curriculum creator. This will be an excellent opportunity for the Fall II, Winter, Spring I, and Spring II teachers to see what the manual for Fall I is like, and ask questions to the creator as well.
The third part of the meeting is to help prepare one or two of the materials needed for the first day of Academic Enrichment. This will help all the teachers experience a hands-on on what materials preparation will be like. Please know that at the meeting we will give you instructions as to how to deliver to us what you need to be prepared during the session so we can have the prep team do it for you.
If you have any questions about this or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact Kassandra Bristow, the Academic Enrichment Coordinator via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Fall I teachers:
Teachers, by July 30th you will receive your manual. Please note many of the lessons created involve some prep work PRIOR to the delivery of the lesson. This prep work is CRITICAL as it will substantially cut down on the length of the activity in your class period, allowing you plenty of time to complete these elaborate projects with your students. Our intent is to provide you with volunteers who will do the labor (cutting, pasting, assembling, etc.) of this prep work so that it does not fall entirely upon your shoulders. To make the best use of these volunteers (and minimize the amount of prep work you need to do), please look through all five lessons in your teacher binder. Come prepared with a list of tasks (and the items/supplies needed to complete those tasks) to our August 15th meeting. At the meeting, we will begin this prep work for you. We will prioritize tasks for Week 1 and Week 2 lessons. Additional volunteers will be available during Academic Enrichment classtimes at our meeting location to work on Week 3, Week 4, and Week 5 projects. If you have any questions about this or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact Kassandra Bristow, the Academic Enrichment Coordinator via email at email@example.com.
